About Me

As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), I am licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice psychotherapy and provide clinical social work services. I am also theologically trained and attended both theological school and social work school at Boston University. I have extensive post-masters experience in working in mental health as well as medical healthcare, and I completed a post-graduate fellowship in psychoanalysis at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis. My primary expertise comes from engaging in a healing practice with my clients and helping them through what is often the most difficult experiences in their life.

I specialize in helping people through loss ... be it loss of functionality or ability, loss of a sense of peace, loss of employment, loss of how a relationship used to be, or the loss of a person. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and utilize my theological and clinical social work training toward healing and positive change. My style adapts to the unique needs of the client, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, spiritual counseling, and motivational interviewing.

In addition to my psychotherapeutic practice, I serve on the Board and Executive Committee of the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts (NASW-MA) and Co-Chair the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Committee of NASW-MA. I also provide educational presentations for schools and colleges on grief and loss counseling, spirituality and mental health, and mindfulness.
